On the left of this picture as you look at it, one can see the outstanding Ving Tsun teacher and exponent, namely Sifu Anthony Kan.  Out of respect on this website he is titled Dai-Sifu meaning big Sifu or senior Sifu. He is accompanied by his UK student Sifu Doug Clark.  Sifu Anthony Kan has been teaching Ving Tsun independently for many years now.

Sifu Anthony Kan has a long history of training in the Martial Arts and Ving Tsun Kung Fu in particular.  In fact he has been training in this System of Combat for over thirty years! Sifu Anthony Kan is a very high level technician and teacher of Ving Tsun Kung Fu understanding in depth both the theory and the practical application of knowledge.







Sifu Anthony Kan was a close personal friend and student of the late great Master Wong Shun Leung being introduced to him in the very early 1980's by Duncan Ma, a student of Wong Shun Leung and also a good friend of Anthony Kan.  Anthony Kan also toured Europe on at least two occassions with Wong Shun Leung visiting many of Wong Shun Leung's Kwoons in Europe. Wong Shun Leung was the main teacher of the famous actor and martial artist namely Bruce Lee.  Sifu Anthony Kan being a close personal friend of Master Wong Shun Leung and having being accepted as a student was taught the System by Master Wong Shun Leung.  Being Chinese meant that Sifu Anthony Kan was able to understand in depth the theory and application of the Ving Tsun System.  Sifu Anthony Kan now trains in China under high level Masters of Nei Jai Quan (Internal Systems of Kung Fu)  as well as teaching in the UK.  This means that he has very high levels of both practical knowledge and theoretical knowledge to pass on to his students.

Sifu Anthony Kan has met many of Wong Shun Leung's direct line students including Chiu Hok Ying, Cliff Au Yeung. Wan Kam Leung, Gary Lam, Philipp Bayer, Barry Lee, David Peterson and many others of note.

Anthony Kan is the most Senior Certified UK Instructor for Wong Shun Leung within the UK. His Teaching Certificate was issued by Wong Shun Leung in the 1980's after more than eight years in the Senior Instructors Programme of Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun Martial Art Association Ltd.

Sifu Anthony Kan was the host in the UK for a large number of Master Wong Shun Leung's seminars.  In fact Wong Shun Leung stayed as a personal guest of Anthony Kan's when he visited the UK as did others of his students.

This picture shows Sifu Anthony Kan in white with his teacher namely Wong Shun Leung in black. Wong Shun Leung was one of the very best students of Grandmaster Yip Man.  Wong Shun Leung was also the premier teacher of Bruce Lee, the famous movie star.  This picture was taken in the 1990's.
